Pasir Panjang Rd, My New Found Love...

We recently moved our office to Pasir Panjang Rd from Jalan Bukit Merah and I am so thrilled to be now working along Pasir Panjang where good food reigns strong.
There is famous hokkien mee and char kuay teow amongst other great food at the food centre nearby and plenty of small stalls selling nice food like prawn noodles and nasi bryani sprawled along this stretch of road. The food exploration seems endless for such a short road. :)
Today, I ate fried fish soup with dry instant noodles which I waited half an hour for. :(
Firstly, do not expect the fried fish to come in huge chunks as we'd usually get elsewhere but be prepared to find many little peices of fish about 3-5cm long covered in batter floating about in your soup.
Secondly, I liked the soup base which was super pleasing to my palette. It was slightly sweet and very taste worthy. Could have had seconds if it wasnt so filling.
However, I found the little peices of fish too small and not satisfying to bite on even though the soup complimented the batter very well. There seemed to be more flour than fish meat to chew on.
Thirdly, i enjoyed the dry instant noodles mixed with packet noodle seasoning and thought it was a pretty good idea to pair up with fish soup but it was not that fantastic. Instant noodles will be instant noodles if you know what I mean.
And lastly, the highlight of the entire dish i felt, was the sour chilli sauce which was not too spicy but tasted darn good with the fish bits.
All in all, it was a 3.5/5.
Not worth the half an hour wait for but still nice.
