We gathered our kids and ventured over to Geylang Lorong 21 for Koung's Wan Tan Mee today and here's my take on the popular wanton noodles:
We waited ages for our wanton mee to come which was expected and when it came, the dry mee we ordered, frankly didn't live up to our expectations. The noodles were pretty dry and hard and the smell of yeast on the noodles was on the heavy side.
But I thought the sauce blend in the mee was balanced in taste and the char siew was not too dry but the wanton soup on the side was bland.
Both my husband and I liked the noodle soup version better. The soup was sweet and the noodles inside were naturally softer in texture.
