Penang laksa road trip

We drove into jb to have our favourite Penang laksa today.
D'laksa is at the ksl city food fair at the moment so we headed over to satisfy our tastebuds.
They have a shop at plaza sentosa on the ground floor but if they are at a fair, they usually shut the shop. They also come over to Singapore for the food fairs at expo very often so do like their facebook page for updates.

If you are a Penang laksa fanatic like me and my family, then you will love their laksa. It has superb consistency and unbeatable taste authenticity.

Dinner at Hillman Restaurant

The older Cantonese folks in singapore would know this restaurant located at Kitchener road. It started out at cantonment rd in the 60s and continues to serve very yummy Cantonese cuisine today. It's famous for its paper wrapped chicken and claypot dishes. Must either make reservations or come real early or risk being turned away. this cosy place is surprisingly very popular with the local Japanese community.

Address: 135 Kitchener rd. Near city square mall

This is the main outlet and they also have a branch along pasir panjang rd called Manhill Restaurant but I find the food here better. The spouse ordered crab meat tofu, 8 stars pot, broccoli, pork chop, and paper wrapped chicken. My favourite dishes are the chicken and pork chop. "wok hei" rating definitely a 4/5.

Haaay baaaaa

We brought our kids to hay dairies at kranji today and the older one enjoyed looking at the goats and drinking fresh goats milk. The younger one however, had a harder time dealing with the overwhelming stench of goats poop. Nevertheless,  its always good to get out of the city sometimes.
Located at 3 lim chu kang lane 4.

We then drove to qian hu fish farm at 69 jalan lekar to look at fishies!

This cute little fella costs $400.00.

fish spa ponds are segregated according to fish size.

Both kids loved looking at the wide range of species and accessories available. Theres a small cafe there selling drinks and snacks as well as an area for fishing and 3 fish spa ponds.

Wanton mee brunch: Kim Kee Tanjong Rhu Wanton Mee

Weekend brunch was with the spouse at kampong arang food centre to have our favourite wanton mee. To me kim kee tanjong rhu wanton mee beats all wanton mee hands down.
Great noodle texture, great tasting soup. Nice sauce mix. Even the famous food critic Cai lan endorses it.
Worth the wait.
#01-18 Kim kee (coffee shop) tanjong rhu wanton mee.
Must try!

Bagaholic

Love my tan coloured ketupat Charles & Keith bag. It's a cheap spin off of a bottega but hey i still love it. Boss bought another bag for me for my bday but I didn't like it so I exchanged it for this one.

1st Day of CNY

1st Day of New Year was spent at Jurong West with my husband's family.
I was wearing a white lace top with caramel coloured shorts and pale pink shoes. Love the detail on the blouse but was a little worried about it looking like my grandma's curtains.
Had mega EYE BAGS that day. New year, new beginnings.
